The AXREM Executive Committee is the organisation’s primary decision-making and leadership body, responsible for setting the strategic direction of AXREM and ensuring the association continues to represent the interests of its members and the wider diagnostic and therapeutic technology sector. Comprised of senior leaders from Member Companies, Multi-Interest Member Companies and the elected Convenors of AXREM’s various Groups, the Executive Committee brings together a diverse range of expertise, industry knowledge and clinical insight to guide the organisation’s priorities, policies and activities.
Meeting quarterly, the Executive Committee provides governance, oversight and leadership across all areas of AXREM’s work. Members work collaboratively to shape strategy, respond to emerging challenges and opportunities within UK healthcare and ensure AXREM remains a respected and influential voice with policymakers, healthcare providers, regulators and other key stakeholders. Through this collective leadership, the Committee helps drive initiatives that support innovation, patient safety, industry growth and the adoption of healthcare technologies across the NHS and independent healthcare sectors.
Each Member Company is represented by one voting executive, while Multi-Interest Member Companies may appoint two executives and hold two votes. Specialist Focus Groups are represented by their elected Convenor, who vote on behalf of the members of their Group rather than their own organisation, ensuring that the views and priorities of AXREM’s specialist communities are reflected in strategic decision-making. Executive members may delegate attendance and voting rights to another employee from their organisation when required, ensuring continuity of representation and engagement.
The Executive Committee operates through a transparent and democratic voting process. Decisions are determined by a majority vote of those present, with voting conducted confidentially using secure digital polling for both virtual and in-person attendees. In the event of a tied vote, the Chair has a casting vote or may request that members vote again. This governance framework ensures that decisions are made fairly, efficiently and in the best interests of AXREM and its membership.
