The awards will take place in London on the 22nd February, at a special event where over 300 trade association colleague will come together to celebrate all the fantastic work that is done by trade bodies.

The awards that AXREM have been shortlisted for are Publication of the Year for the Member & External Stakeholder Newsletters, ESG Initiative of the Year for the work done by our Sustainability Special Focus Group, with a groundbreaking blend of AXREM members and representatives from NHS England, NHS Scotland, NHS Supply Chain, The Department for Health & Social Care, the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine and the Royal College of Radiologists. This inclusive approach has propelled AXREM to the forefront of sustainability leadership, enabling us to influence prudent decision-making.

Jeevan Gunaratnam, AXREM Chair said upon hearing the news “I am really proud to lead an organisation that is growing and developing, despite the challenges being felt by many of our members and the NHS. To be recognised in these awards and shortlisted is a proud moment for all of our members and the staff team”.

The final award shortlist is for AXREM Chief Executive Officer, Sally Edgington for Outstanding Leadership Award. Sally has transformed AXREM since she joined the organisation back in 2019 where we have seen over 200% growth in our membership, increased members benefits and a big increase in engagement both with members and external organisations.

Sally Edgington said “I cannot express in words just how proud I am to work with our fabulous members and small team of staff. I look back each year and reflect on the work of the association and cannot believe for such a small team, just how much we achieve and will always be immensely grateful to the members and external stakeholders for their support of the association and our work. I am really excited for the awards event in February, and congratulate all the shortlisted organisations and colleagues, and wish everyone the best of luck”.

This is the third year running that AXREM have been recognised on the shortlist, and last year the association scooped the Innovation of the Year Award for the AXREM Member Accreditation Scheme (AMA). After winning the award Emily Wallace, Chief Executive of the Trade Association Forum and Chair of the judging panel said: “The judges loved this simple innovation which delivered real-world impact, and which is helping to save the NHS money in a really practical way”.

In the 2022 awards AXREM CEO Sally Edgington was recognised, and took away the Outstanding Contribution Award. Upon being presented with the award the Trade Association Forum recognised that Sally had been instrumental in growing membership, driving innovation, including an AXREM App. They also said that Sally is a champion for the association, a fierce advocate for members and has shown drive and determination in the face of any challenge thrown at her.

AXREM will look forward to celebrating with all the other trade associations that do such important work for their different sectors and members, ensuring that industry has a voice and feel represented in the highest forums.

AXREM’s member companies supply most of the diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy equipment, patient monitoring, care equipment, healthcare informatics and AI installed in UK hospitals. They work with Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers and Practitioners, Oncologists, and a wide range of healthcare professionals in delivering healthcare to patients using our technologies.

Our members have unique knowledge, experience and insight into the workflow and challenges faced by healthcare professionals on a day-to-day basis, which enables us to develop and offer innovative solutions to improve the speed and quality of diagnostic procedures and treatments with our aim of improving patient care.

Although our members operate in a highly competitive commercial environment and in strict conformity with UK laws and regulations, certain issues such as this require focus and resolution on an industry-wide basis.
