AXREM is pleased to start 2023 with the announcement and appointment of a new Chair, Jeevan Gunaratnam, Strategic Accounts and Independent Sector Leader at Philips.

Jeevan takes over from Ila Dobson who continues to provide support as Vice Chair of AXREM for 2023.

Jeevan’s role at Philips involves working with leadership teams across the Public Sector (NHS/HSCNI/HSE), Independent Sector, Professional Bodies and Government, providing strategic and commercial support to meet current and future healthcare objectives.

Prior to this, Jeevan worked in the United States, Germany, and Japan, and served as Honorary Treasurer at the British Institute of Radiology (BIR). He was previously Senior Independent Director at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust and has also helped establish diagnostic and treatment centers across the UK.

Jeevan said “It is a great honour to have been appointed as Chair. AXREM is without doubt the leading Trade Association in Healthcare Technology. Our members, many of which are household names, support healthcare providers in the delivery of care to millions of patients each year, through the latest technology in diagnostic imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and care equipment.”

“I’m incredibly proud of the unique insight AXREM members provide to our partners in this post-pandemic period of rebuilding and recovery. Our work on sustainability, cybersecurity and credentialling is just part of the valuable output from our spectrum of specialist focus groups. I look forward to continuing this work with the NHS, Government and other key stakeholders in making a positive contribution to the health of our nation.”

Sally Edgington, AXREM Director said “After working with Jeevan for the last few months in his role as Vice Chair, I am looking forward to working more closely and seeing how we can continue to grow, engage and support AXREM members. Having a change in leadership is also exciting and I see this as an opportunity to do things differently and ensure that AXREM is constantly evolving and widening our offering to members”.
