AXREM Supports Members at UKIO Significantly Increasing Presence

Share

The stage was set in Liverpool and over half of the AXREM membership were in attendance exhibiting at the event, which hasn’t met in person since before the pandemic in 2019.

The sun shone, and the imaging and oncology community came together for the three-day multidisciplinary scientific congress with a programme that showcases the most cutting-edge content for a multidisciplinary audience that addresses the medical, scientific, educational and management issues in the diverse fields of diagnostic imaging, oncology, and radiological sciences.

AXREM Director Sally Edgington was there for the entire event and spent Monday with members visiting their stands, providing AXREM marketing materials they could use for the event, taking photos and offering members support by posting via the AXREM social media channels. On Monday afternoon the new AXREM selfie frame circulated the exhibition hall, with many of our members getting in the spirit with some fantastic photo opportunities.

On day two Sally Edgington was joined by Lord Chris Rennard who spend most of the day with AXREM members finding out more about the products and services they offer and what their key issues are. Tuesday was also the day that AXREM launched the associations manifesto, you can read more about our priorities in the AXREM manifesto either on our website here: https://www.axrem.org.uk/resource/axrem-manifesto

The highlight of the event for AXREM was the drinks reception we hosted in the Piazza area of the exhibition hall. Over 350 people attended being a mix of industry, stakeholders and delegates which offered fantastic networking opportunities. It was also an opportunity for AXREM to speak about our work. Lord Rennard started the speeches talking about his Liverpool roots and thanking the NHS for all their work during the pandemic. Lord Rennard also did a shoutout to all the companies that sponsored the event: Annalise.ai, Agfa Healthcare, Bracco, Change Healthcare, Fujifilm, GE Healthcare, Guerbet, HULBERT Imaging, Hyland, Insignia, Medray, Philips Healthcare, Siemens Healthineers, Soliton IT and Xograph.

AXREM Vice Chair Jeevan Gunaratnam spoke about the AXREM Manifesto and the AXREM Members Accreditation Scheme before handing back to Lord Rennard.

After the event had closed AXREM Director Sally Edgington said “I think the AXREM presence at UKIO has shown how far we have come as an organisation over the last 3 years. It has been a pleasure to support the event and our members who have exhibited and speak to delegates and potential members”.

Note:

AXREM’s member companies supply most of the diagnostic medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment installed in UK hospitals. They work with Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers and Practitioners, Oncologists, and a wide range of healthcare professionals in delivering healthcare to patients using our technologies.

Our members have unique knowledge, experience and insight into the workflow and challenges faced by healthcare professionals on a day-to-day basis, which enables us to develop and offer innovative solutions to improve the speed and quality of diagnostic procedures and treatments with our ultimate aim of improving patient care.

Although our members operate in a highly competitive commercial environment and in strict conformity with UK laws and regulations, certain issues such as this require focus and resolution on an industry-wide basis.
