Share

AXREM are pleased to announce that Graham King from annalise.ai has been appointed as the new Convenor of the AXREM AI Special Focus Group.

Graham has been working in diagnostics and clinical IT since 2003, in a variety of NHS and software vendor roles. This includes ten years in clinical content management roles working in the UK, Netherlands and Nordics, part of which included AI / data science roles. Since 2018 Graham has had roles with IBM Watson Health, DesAcc and, most recently, as a Solution Architect for annalise.ai.

Graham King has worked on national working groups (techUK AI/Data science and Health & Social Care) as well as DICOM Working Group 23 (AI/Application Hosting).

Areas Graham would like to focus on include:

  • Educating policy makers and policy implementers on challenges and solutions to AI deployment at scale in the NHS
  • Lobby for streamlining of known blockers, especially in the information governance and data sharing areas
  • Lobby for increased use of international standards (technical and AI governance) to avoid “reinventing the wheel”

On being appointed Graham King said “The use of AI in Radiology is at a pivotal point. Increasing adoption will require close co-operation with imaging providers, NHS leadership in local Trusts and the four nations of the UK, professional bodies, and industry. Myself and the other members of the AXREM Special Focus Group will be at the forefront of this and look forward to serving our stakeholders as we go into 2023.”

The AI special focus group has also appointed Donna Savage from Guerbet as Vice Convenor.

Donna Savage started her career as a Radiographer. Donna wanted to see improvements immediately and growing up with a ‘no excuses’ mentality she started the journey to develop herself and knowledge within the industry. Donna did a postgraduate and was promoted to a Senior Radiographer, Department Lead, Reporting Radiographer then helped secure roles as PACS/RIS/CR Manager. Donna was part of a team that created and maintained a successful National PACS installation in Scotland.

Donna Savage believed the next big thing to improve the Radiology sphere would be the ability to detect things that the human eye cannot see. Donna moved to the commercial sector to begin her quest to address the challenges in adopting Advanced Visualisation software. Over the last seven years, Donna have held pivotal roles nationally and across EMEA including Health Informatics and Sales Specialist roles, moving on to National Sales Manager and establishing a Digital product line and is now the Global Sales & Applications leader for Digital & AI.

Donna Savage said on being appointed as Vice Convenor “Thank you for all your encouragement to take on this new role. It is an exciting time to shape the direction AI takes in the U.K and I am looking forward to working with Sally Edgington, Graham King, and all members within AXREM to make sure we achieve the objectives which are crucial to the success of AI adoption. There are a lot of voices to be heard, plans to be made and work to do in 2023 so I would like to take this opportunity to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and relaxing end to this year’.

The AXREM AI special focus group was established in November 2020 and has gone from strength to strength, with the group publishing an AI manifesto and adopting an AI code of conduct. If you want to find out more about this group: https://www.axrem.org.uk/artificial-intelligence-ai/

Sally Edgington, AXREM Director said “I am looking forward to working with Graham & Donna to see how we can further develop the AI special focus group and the work we are doing, to take the group to the next level. Having professionals like Graham & Donna lead this work helps me deliver the things that are important to our members”.
