Collaboration will explore opportunities to positively address
challenges in UK cancer care
AXREM, the UK trade association representing the interests of suppliers of diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and care equipment, and Public Policy Projects (PPP) have today announced the formalisation of a partnership.
The partnership will explore opportunities for collaboration on PPP’s annual Cancer Care programme, that will run from January 2025 and culminate with an in-person conference on 1st October 2025. PPP’s programme will also include a series of roundtable events, which will enhance the offerings to members of both organisations and help increase visibility with the respective networks and members of each organisation.
This partnership is predicated on the belief that collaboration via a joined up approach is critical to ensure that systemic challenges and issues can be addressed, and positive outcomes achieved.
AXREM members supply the majority of diagnostic medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment installed in UK hospitals, and regularly consults with the Department of Health and Social Care and other governing bodies regarding regulatory and other issues.
Public Policy Projects (PPP) is an organisation operating at the heart of health and life sciences policy delivery creating opportunities for vital discussions about improvement and innovation in the health and care and life sciences sectors. This is achieved by organising events, publishing independent reports and using its own online publishing platforms to highlight best practice and promote practical, evidence-based suggestions for change.
PPP excels at bringing together businesses, public sector leaders, practitioners at local and national level, and other key third sector stakeholders to find solutions to pressing issues relating to health, medicine, care and climate management delivery, ultimately to improve the impact these have on individual citizens and communities.
Sally Edgington, Chief Executive Officer at AXREM, says “At the heart of the AXREM strategic priorities and all the work we do is policy and government engagement. This partnership will help us speak with government and policy makers to ensure the AXREM position and our members views are represented. I am looking forward to attending event and roundtable discussions and seeing how we can develop this partnership!.
Lee Davies, Managing Director at PPP, says “Diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy and healthcare IT will play a vital role in the future of health and care delivery, none more so in the Cancer Care space. Working with Sally and an organisation like AXREM will provide its members opportunities to engage with senior health and care leaders who tasked with transforming services in the UK.”
