AXREM Announces Michael Akadiri as Host for the 2027 Members Lunch and Awards

London, UK – AXREM, the trade association representing the suppliers of diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and care equipment in the UK, is delighted to announce that acclaimed comedian, doctor and broadcaster Michael Akadiri will host the AXREM Members Lunch and Awards 2027.
The highly anticipated annual event brings together industry leaders, members, partners and stakeholders from across the health technology sector to celebrate excellence, innovation, collaboration and achievement. Taking place in May 2027, the AXREM Members Lunch and Awards has become a flagship event in the industry calendar, providing an opportunity to recognise outstanding contributions from individuals, teams and organisations across the sector.
Michael Akadiri is one of the UK’s fastest-rising comedy stars, renowned for his natural charm, infectious energy and sharp observational humour. His growing television career has seen him appear on Comedy Central Live, The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2) and Channel 4’s Stand Up to Cancer, while his radio appearances include BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Comedy Club, and Radio 4’s Fred at the Stand.
Alongside his success in comedy, Michael is a resident NHS doctor who is currently on sabbatical from his surgical training. His unique perspective on healthcare has also made him a sought-after commentator, with appearances on BBC Two’s Newsnight, LBC, Times Radio and contributions to national publications including The Guardian.
Michael’s critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe debut, No Scrubs, sold out its entire run and earned a nomination for the prestigious Biggest Award in Comedy. His follow-up show, Trust Me, I’m a Daddy, successfully toured the UK throughout 2024 and 2025, further cementing his reputation as one of Britain’s most exciting comedic talents. His third show, Don’t Call Me Uncle! Is currently touring the UK & Ireland and will conclude before he takes up the reins as our 2027 Host. He is also a highly regarded corporate host and performer, with previous clients including Apple UK, Spotify UK and NHS England.
