AXREM Announced as Finalists for Two Categories at the 2026 Association Excellence Awards

AXREM, the UK trade association representing the diagnostic imaging, radiotherapy and healthcare IT industry, is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted as a finalist for two prestigious categories at the Association Excellence Awards 2026: Best Association Team and Best Membership Support.
These nominations recognise AXREM’s exceptional contribution to the MedTech sector and celebrate the impact of a team whose work directly supports the NHS, clinicians, patients and the wider health technology ecosystem.
A Small Team Delivering Sector‑Wide Impact
The shortlisting for Best Association Team reflects the extraordinary achievements of AXREM’s staff. Behind AXREM’s national influence is a remarkably small team of six people, equivalent to just four full‑time roles. Despite this, AXREM has undergone one of the most significant transformations of any UK health technology association.
In 2019, AXREM represented 17 member companies. Today, AXREM represents over 130, a growth of more than 650%. With this expansion has come increased complexity, demand and responsibility, yet the team has not only kept pace; they have excelled.
AXREM’s nomination showcases how the team works collaboratively, creatively and relentlessly to deliver outstanding services to members, overcome sector challenges and advance the aims of the association. The team is small, diverse, committed and exceptional. They deliver more than many associations three times their size. They support a sector that saves lives. They care deeply about their members and the patients they serve.
Best Membership Support: The AXREM Women’s Network
AXREM has also been shortlisted for Best Membership Support for the creation and launch of the AXREM Women’s Network, a transformative initiative designed to elevate women across the MedTech and diagnostic imaging sector.
The sector has long been male‑dominated, with women underrepresented in leadership, governance and technical roles. Although AXREM has become significantly more diverse in recent years, women across the membership still lacked a dedicated forum to connect, share experiences, access peer support and influence sector‑wide conversations.
This need became clear at AXREM’s International Women’s Day event at the Florence Nightingale Museum in March 2025, where members called for a space for women to come together, support one another and drive change.
In response, AXREM launched the AXREM Women’s Network, a bold, inclusive and strategic initiative providing meaningful support for women across MedTech. The Network has already strengthened representation, built community and aligned AXREM’s internal culture with its external advocacy for women’s health.
It is a powerful example of membership support that is practical, purposeful and impactful.
A Trusted Awards Programme Recognising Excellence
The Association Excellence Awards salute, celebrate and encourage the vital work that associations, trade bodies, professional organisations and chartered institutes deliver on behalf of their members. Founded in 2015, the awards are attended annually by more than 400 association executives and are recognised as one of the most reputable honours in the sector.
AXREM has previously been named finalists in 2024 and 2025, securing a Bronze and Silver award. Being shortlisted for a third consecutive year is a significant achievement and a testament to AXREM’s growing influence, credibility and leadership across the health technology landscape
