AXREM Announces Change to SFG and New Convenor


Following substantial growth over the last 4 years, a more diverse membership and strategic approach to our work, AXREM are pleased to announce that our Service Managers Special Focus Group will now be known as the Service & Operations Special Focus Group, with the name now making clearer the group’s work and remit.

AXREM are also pleased to announce that from November we have a new Convenor and Vice Convenor for the group. Richard Coldrick, Senior Operations Manager at Elekta, has been a long standing member of the AXREM Executive Committee and will take up the role as Convenor.

Richard’s role as Senior Operations Manager at Elekta focuses on customer satisfaction in many areas of the business including service, operations and sales. but his role at Elekta now focuses on operations, quality and contract management for the North Europe Cluster which includes UK Ireland, Netherlands and Nordics. Richard is the ‘go to’ person at Elekta for challenges that need to be overcome. Richard has 30 years’ experience in the radiotherapy business starting his career in 1994, he has been involved with AXREM since 2008 as part of the Service Focus Group and has served on the Executive Committee since 2016. Richard is also an active member of the Radiotherapy Special Focus Group.

Richard Coldrick, said upon being appointed to the Convenor role “I am delighted to be appointed as the convenor of the Service & Operations Focus Group. I plan to work closely with Declan, Sally and Mel as a team to produce an interesting, informative and exciting agenda for meetings going forward.

The Vice Convenor role will be fulfilled by Declan McGregor, National Service Delivery Manager at Fujifilm Healthcare UK. Declan has over a decade of experience in the healthcare industry and 7+ years in the medical imaging sector gaining exposure to a wide range of modalities. Declan has worked extensively as a Field Service Engineer and Technical Manager prior to moving into a UK wide service management role, gaining strong, first-hand experience of the operational, regulatory and technical challenges faced by our continually evolving industry. Declan also has significant experience of collaborating with industry partners to ensure a continued delivery of service with a patient focused approach.

Declan McGregor said upon being appointed to the Vice Convenor role ”I am excited to work closer with AXREM and support the Special Focus Group. From my first introduction to AXREM it was clear to see the benefit to a collaborative and where appropriate, collective approach to service – ensuring compliance, best practice and standards to continually improve our industry.”

The announcement comes after the incumbent Convenor Tony Hulbert, formerly Managing Director at Hulbert Imaging, decided to step away due to evolutions in his role since becoming part of the Medray Group. Tony has been Convenor since May 2023 and will continue to be an active member of this group as well as the AXREM Executive Committee.
