AXREM Thanks Ila Dobson for her Outstanding Work for AXREM

Ila Dobson, Director Strategic Accounts, NHS Supply Chain at GE Healthcare will be stepping down as Vice Chair of AXREM after completing a full 4-year term as both Vice & Chair of AXREM.
At the recent AXREM Executive Committee meeting, AXREM CEO Sally Edgington presented Ila with some flowers and a special gift and thanked her for all the work she had done in the years Sally has led the organisation. Jeevan Gunaratnam thanked Ila on behalf of the Executive committee for the many years she had contributed so positively to the work AXREM has done, and the dedication she has shown during this time.
Ila Dobson advised the Executive Committee that she will also be retiring from GE Healthcare at the end of the year after 37 years of service.
AXREM has completely transformed over the last 4 years and much of this significant period of change was under Ila’s leadership.
Some of the AXREM highlights under Ila Dobson’s leadership include:
- Aligning with other Industry Groups and key Government Organisations
- Publishing the association’s first manifesto at UKIO 2022
- Launching the AXREM Member Accreditation Scheme in April 2022
- The creation of an AI special focus group in November 2020
- The creation of a Sustainability special focus group
- Being recognised 3 successive years in the Trade Association shortlist and having won the last 2 years.
Ila’s career spans many years in GE Healthcare with a number Global, European and UK leadership roles across Business Operations, Commercial Sales and Service driving key initiatives such as Integration, Innovation in AI, Procurement, Optimisation Customer Processes and Workforce as a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
Ila Dobson said upon announcing her retirement “It has been an absolute honour and a privilege to work collaboratively with AXREM members for over 25 years to help shape and deliver the very best healthcare for our sector and patients. I am deeply grateful to Sally and my Industry colleagues for all the help and support during my tenure as Chair and Vice Chair and I wish AXREM continued success in making a difference in the healthcare market in the years ahead”.
Sally Edgington, Chief Executive Officer of AXREM said “Ila Dobson has simply been an absolute legend since I joined AXREM. Before I was even offered the job I had the pleasure of meeting Ila and we hit it off straight away, and have formed a very close working relationship and this really has been the key to AXREM’s success over recent years. Ila has gone above and beyond in her voluntary roles, working this side by side with her busy career at GE Healthcare, I have nothing but gratitude for everything Ila has done for both AXREM and my personal development”.
