AXREM Publishes Sustainability Policy

Share

AXREM have today published a sustainability policy, this policy relates to how AXREM operates as a responsible organisation and shows the commitment we make as an organisation to sustainability.

This policy applies to all AXREM employees (employed by GAMBICA), and third parties who undertake activity for an on behalf of AXREM.  It applies to the services and operations we provide to our members. AXREM is committed to creating a sustainable society actively managing our operations in a way that balances our social, environmental, and economic objectives. In order to do this, sustainability considerations are addressed through this document that details our policies and procedures collectively delivering the objectives of this policy.

The policy has been published following the association launching a Sustainability Special Focus Group earlier this year. This is a forum open to all AXREM members giving them a forum to engage with NHS England & Improvement and NHS Supply Chain discussing the latest news in relation to the NHS net zero target. Over 60% of the total NHS Carbon Footprint sits within the NHS supply chain, so reducing supply chain emissions will be crucial to reaching net zero by 2045. This target includes emissions from freight, the manufacturing of goods, catering, business services and construction.

Sally Edgington, AXREM Director said “I am really proud of the work AXREM are doing around sustainability, this is a great example of the role that trade association play in supporting members through changes and the associated challenges. The collaboration that is being done in this group is really positive and the policy is a direct result of the proactive work done by members”.
