AXREM says a fond farewell to Alan Birks

AXREM and Gambica staff and members came together on Friday 29th March and said a fond farewell to Alan Birks who has been Director of AXREM for the last 4 years but that has also worked with GAMBICA and BEAMA for many more years previously.
Staff, members, family and friends gathered for a party to celebrate the fantastic work Alan has done with the associations and to wish him well with his retirement. During his speech Alan said “you never get to old to learn new skills and AXREM has introduced me to the MedTech industry”.
Alan went on to say “AXREM members have been massively supportive and are dedicated to the trade association”. Alan was asked what he is going to do in his retirement and he said “I’m going to take a leaf out of what you do when you work, and remember you are never too old to learn new skills, so I want to continue my professional development programme for retirement! And I’ve set myself a few objectives with the main 3 being: to improve my skills in cooking, I want to grow something green and that doesn’t go brown and I want to improve my handicap on the golf course”.
Alan will be sorely missed by staff and members alike.
