AXREM Publishes 2025 Annual Report Showcasing a Landmark Year of Growth, Advocacy and Sector-wide Influence

AXREM, the UK trade association representing suppliers of diagnostic imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and patient monitoring equipment, has today released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a year of unprecedented growth, powerful advocacy and strengthened collaboration across the healthcare technology sector.
With membership surpassing 100 organisations for the first time, 2025 marked a pivotal period for AXREM as it expanded its policy footprint, launched influential manifestos, strengthened partnerships with national bodies and championed sustainability, patient safety and digital transformation initiatives.
A Year of Strategic Progress and High-Impact Advocacy
Throughout 2025, AXREM significantly deepened its engagement with government, regulators, NHS leaders and professional bodies ensuring that the voice of industry remains central to national policy discussions on technology adoption, procurement reform, cyber security and clinical safety.
Key achievements included:
- Publication of the AI Manifesto, Imaging IT Manifesto and the Service & Operations Manifesto, launched at high-profile venues including Bletchley Park and the Royal Society of Medicine.
- Successful facilitation of MP visits, increased political engagement and AXREM’s contributions referenced in Westminster.
- Progress on cyber security through collaboration with the Cyber Security Operations Centre and participation in DTAC review discussions.
- Strengthened ties with royal colleges, clinical societies and new stakeholder groups.
AXREM CEO Sally Edgington highlighted the importance of this progress:

Growth, Innovation & Achievement Across Special Focus Groups
AXREM’s Special Focus Groups (SFGs) and multiple Working Groups delivered standout contributions across areas including AI, Imaging IT, Radiotherapy, Digital Pathology, Patient Monitoring, Sustainability, Ultrasound, Service & Operations and Teleradiology.
Highlights included:
- Launch of the new Digital Pathology SFG and plans for a 2026 parliamentary manifesto launch.
- Expansion of the AI SFG, with major contributions to national guidance, consultations and standards development.
- Completion of impactful radiotherapy patient resources, including a national awareness video and radiotherapy puzzle.
- Deepened sustainability leadership, supporting NHS Net Zero ambitions and participating in national climate discussions.
- Growth of the Future Leaders Council, which delivered the second State of the Nation report and the Stroke Pathway Statement.
Member Success, Engagement & Expanded Offerings
AXREM delivered an expanded programme of events, education and member engagement, including:
- A sell-out UKIO Happy Hour with 500 attendees.
- The highly successful International Women’s Day event at the Florence Nightingale Museum.
- Collaborative conferences with BHTA and other partners.
- Publication of more than 16 podcast episodes, multiple reports and new visual resources.
- A successful Million Steps Challenge, raising £10,000 for Action for Children.
Member satisfaction remained strong, with 87% of respondents satisfied or very satisfied with their AXREM membership.
Looking Ahead to 2026
The Annual Report highlights major initiatives planned for the year ahead, including:
- The launch of the AXREM Women’s Network, with a parliamentary reception and sector-wide engagement on equity, leadership and women’s health. (11 March 2026)
- The 2026 AXREM Members Lunch & Awards on 30 April at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London.
- A new External Stakeholder Conference bringing together senior leaders from DHSC, NHS England, NHS Supply Chain and across industry (14 October 2026).
- Continued work on national cyber strategy, digital diagnostics policy, sustainable procurement and clinical collaboration.
