AXREM Announces Robyn Baker as Vice Convenor of the AXREM Ultrasound Special Focus Group

AXREM is delighted to announce the appointment of Robyn Baker as Vice Convenor of the AXREM Ultrasound Special Focus Group (SFG), supporting the group’s convenor and working alongside members from across the AXREM community to share best practice, promote innovation and support the effective use of ultrasound technologies within UK healthcare.

Robyn Baker is a healthcare professional with experience spanning clinical practice and medical technology. Beginning her career as an NHS nurse, she later transitioned into the medical imaging and ultrasound sector, bringing a strong understanding of real‑world clinical challenges. Robyn currently works as a Business Development Manager in ultrasound service and sales, with a focus on equipment maintenance, quality assurance and service strategy for Modality. Robyn has a particular interest in standardisation, governance and improving access to effective ultrasound quality assurance, and is passionate about promoting inclusion and encouraging more women into careers in engineering and healthcare technology.

In her role as Vice Convenor, Robyn said “I’m really pleased to be involved in this group and supporting its ongoing work. I’m particularly passionate about collaboration across clinical, technical, and commercial teams and developing high-quality standards that genuinely support patient care and frontline services. I’m looking forward to working closely with the committee in this role and continuing the great work!”

The AXREM Ultrasound Special Focus Group (SFG) brings together leading suppliers of diagnostic medical ultrasound equipment, representing the majority of systems installed across UK hospitals and community settings. The group works collaboratively with clinical and professional bodies, including the British Medical Ultrasound Society, the Society and College of Radiographers and the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, to promote best practice, support quality assurance and governance, and address shared challenges across the sector. Through guidance development, stakeholder engagement and industry collaboration, the group supports the safe, effective and consistent use of ultrasound technologies across UK healthcare
