AXREM CEO Sally Edgington Recognised on the 2026 Women in Trade Associations Powerlist for Fourth Consecutive Year
AXREM is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer Sally Edgington has been recognised for the fourth year running on the prestigious Women in Trade Associations (WiTA) Powerlist, published by the Trade Association Forum (TAF) in partnership with the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). The 2026 Powerlist is released to mark International Women’s Day and celebrates the exceptional women shaping and leading trade associations across the UK.
The WiTA Powerlist highlights the impact of women who are driving change, championing their sectors and inspiring the next generation of leaders. Nominations are submitted from across the trade association community and reviewed by an expert judging panel from TAF, CBI and FSB.
Recognition of Outstanding Leadership
Sally’s nomination, submitted by AXREM Chair Huw Shurmer, reflects a year of significant progress and influence for both AXREM and the wider medical imaging and healthcare technology sector. In his nomination, Huw highlighted Sally’s ability to unify a diverse and traditionally male‑dominated membership, positioning AXREM as the authoritative voice for the UK medical diagnostic imaging industry during a period of intense pressure and transformation across healthcare.
He noted that under Sally’s leadership in 2025:
- AXREM strengthened its role in national policy discussions, ensuring the expertise of the diagnostic imaging sector informed decision‑making at the highest levels.
- The association played a meaningful role in shaping debates on diagnostic capacity, service delivery and innovation, reinforcing AXREM’s credibility and influence.
- Sally championed Value Based Procurement, helping members shift towards approaches that prioritise patient outcomes, long‑term value and system‑wide efficiency.
- She expanded opportunities for emerging talent, embedding future leaders into AXREM’s working groups and governance structures to build capability and confidence across the next generation.
- She created a visible platform for women in the sector, hosting a landmark event at the Florence Nightingale Museum that has since evolved into an industry‑wide Women’s Network.
- She led AXREM’s collective sustainability strategy, aligning members behind shared environmental commitments and strengthening the association’s reputation for responsible leadership.
- AXREM doubled its membership in the past 24 months, reflecting the organisation’s growing relevance, capability and impact.
Huw concluded that Sally’s “strategic vision, policy influence, commitment to people and ability to unify an industry” make her a highly deserving recipient of this national recognition.

Later this month, Sally will attend a special reception hosted by the Trade Association Forum to celebrate the achievements of all women named on the 2026 Powerlist.
