AXREM & BSE Announce New Partnership

AXREM is the UK trade association representing the interests of suppliers of diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and care equipment including patient monitoring in the UK. AXREM members supply the majority of diagnostic medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment installed in UK hospitals.

The British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) is a registered charity which represents clinical echocardiography professionals working at all levels and in all areas of the field. Its aim is to provide its members with the necessary support to deliver the highest standard of care in echocardiography.

AXREM and the BSE have been collaborating over the last couple of years via the Imaging & Oncology Forum and have now decided to formalise a partnership to explore other opportunities to work together. Collaborations like this can enhance the offering to members of both organisations and can help increase visibility with each organisations respective members.

It is also important to collaborate where both organisations can have a joined-up approach and voice to ensure challenges and issues can be addressed, and positive outcomes achieved.

Sally Edgington, Chief Executive Officer at AXREM said “I am really pleased we have formalised this partnership, and I am excited to explore opportunities of working together more closely. Industry have a big role to play in educating professionals in the NHS and understanding their requirements when it comes to research and development of new innovative products and services.

It will also be good to see how industry can help raise the profile of echocardiography and the role of the profession to see more professionals entering training in the future. Industry are also keen to set best practice and working with professional bodies like the BSE can ensure we are equipped with the right information to do this”.

Jo Sopala, Chief Executive Officer at the BSE said “The BSE has already benefitted from its relationship with AXREM through the Imaging and Oncology Forum via networking, shared learning and lobbying. I am delighted that AXREM are keen to work in partnership with us to gain even more traction for our respective members together. Many of AXREM’s members work directly with echocardiographers at local levels and it makes great sense for us to be having conversations at the highest levels too.”
