AXREM New Vice Chair Appointed

AXREM are pleased to announce that following many years in the AXREM Executive Committee and having represented AXREM at key external high level meetings Ila Dobson, Director Strategic Accounts NHS Supply Chain at GE Healthcare will now take on the role as Vice Chair for the next 12 months before stepping up as Chair for a further 2 years. Ila said “I am deeply honored to be taking up this role with AXREM, and working with members to continue to serve the NHS and their customers in a fair ethical marketplace. I look forward to working alongside the Chairman, AXREM Members and Director to ensure our industry association continues to take a strategic view as to how we can expand our scope of work, with the aim of adding further value in the NHS and in Government to help drive improvements and better patient outcomes. It has been a pleasure to represent AXREM for many years at Industry meetings, and with the continued support from industry association colleagues I look forward to being a positive ambassador for AXREM”.

Ila Dobson will work alongside the current Chairman Grant Witheridge, Managing Director of AGFA and Sally Edgington AXREM Director, ensuring that AXREM continue to support their members and are at the forefront of being the voice of the medical imaging and IT industry. Grant Witheridge said “I am delighted Isla has accepted the role of Vice Chair.   Having worked extensively with the her over the years within the  AXREM executive committee, her extensive industry experience and knowledge will serve us well as we continue to work together as an industry body in the best interests of healthcare  providers and  their patients.”.

After a total of two years as Vice Chair and 2 years as Chairman Peter Harrison, Managing Director at Siemens Healthineers has stepped back from his role at AXREM in line with the constitution, Peter said “It was my pleasure to serve my second two year term as AXREM chair from 2017-2018, a role that I similarly held in 2007-2008.  The role presents the opportunity to represent the diagnostic imaging and therapy industry as a whole without any political or company bias, but rather to ensure sustainable business and competitive market engagement to ultimately benefit healthcare providers and patients.  In my capacity as Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers, I am pleased to continue our support and engagement with AXREM in order to further support these aims.” Peter will remain as a key member of the AXREM Executive Committee.
