AXREM hosts beginners’ crochet-along for Dementia UK this November

AXREM, the UK trade association for suppliers of diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and care equipment, is running a four-week crochet-along throughout November to raise money for its Charity of the Year, Dementia UK.

The crochet-along is inspired by Dementia UK’s November Knitting Challenge. The challenge invites people to pick up their needles every day in November to help fund specialist dementia nurses. We’re taking the idea and giving it a hook.

Donna Eade, Marketing Assistant at AXREM, will host four beginner-friendly sessions, one each week. No experience is needed. Each session will cover the basics step by step, so complete beginners can finish the month with a new skill and something to show for it.

The sessions are open to AXREM members and the final YouTube Live stream is open to everyone. Instead of a fee, attendees are asked to make a donation to our Dementia UK fundraiser at each session.

“Dementia touches so many families, including people across our own sector. Supporting Dementia UK this year has been important to us, and the crochet-along is a lovely way encourage personal well being, learn something new and raise money for a charity that makes a real difference.”

“Crochet looks trickier than it is. By the end of the four weeks, I’d like everyone to feel confident enough to carry on at home. If you’ve always fancied giving it a go, this is your chance, and every session helps Dementia UK.”
