AXREM Chief Executive Officer Included on the Women in Trade Associations Powerlist 2023

Share

The WiTA Powerlist is a collaboration between FSB, CBI and the Trade Association Forum to celebrate and recognise inspirational women in the Association sector.

The list was compiled from over 200 public nominations, reviewed by a selection panel from the Trade Association Forum. The CBI and FSB had the unenviable task of selecting the 100 women that make up the inaugural list.

Sally Edgington, AXREM Chief Executive Officer, has been recognised for her work during the COVID-19 response. Sally worked with the NHS and Government to support members in the equipping of care settings including Nightingale Hospitals. She continues to provide this leadership as the country navigates a recovery pathway.

Sally is active in the AXREM Executive Committee, which is singular for a Trade Association in being made up of CEOs or other C-level executives from member organisations – providing a powerful mandate and industry voice.

Sally’s achievements include:

  • Doubling membership over the last 4 years
  • Leading on strategic development through hosting Strategy Days with the Leadership Team
  • Directing a multi-channel social media presence and significantly increasing AXREM’s reach
  • Founding the Imaging & Oncology Forum to ensure alignment between industry and bodies representing healthcare professionals and patients
  • Securing ministerial support and recognition for AXREM members’ workforce to be recognised as “front-line workers”, including being given priority access to vaccines

It is clear to our members that under Sally’s leadership, AXREM’s profile and reach have increased significantly, with direct engagement with national stakeholders such as DHSC, NHS England, DIT, Health Secretary, NHS Supply Chain, MPs and many Royal Colleges and other healthcare representative groups.

She has been recognised for an Outstanding Contribution at the 2022 Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards and continues to make a significant impact in our industry.

Jeevan Gunaratnam, AXREM Chair said on hearing the news “I am delighted that Sally has received this recognition for her role at AXREM, representing the interests of our industry and the wider health community.

It is fitting that this announcement is made on two anniversaries. Firstly, it is four years ago yesterday that Sally joined AXREM but equally as significant, today also marks International Women’s Day. The theme for 2023 is #EmbraceEquity, a key pillar is ensuring fair representation. Equity is also critical in healthcare, where AXREM members strive to support healthcare providers deliver equity in access and outcomes.

Sally sits at the heart of AXREM activities so please join me in celebrating both this milestone and International Women’s Day 2023”.

Sally Edgington, Chief Executive office said on hearing the announcement “I am truly honoured to have been recognised on this Powerlist, amongst other trade association colleagues, who all work tirelessly to ensure the sectors we represent have a valued industry voice.

I am very fortunate to work with a great team of colleagues and members, and the success of AXREM really is a team effort.

I’d would like to pass my thanks to Jeevan Gunaratnam for the nomination and to the Trade Association Forum, FSB and CBI for including me on this list”.

There will be a celebratory reception later in the year to bring the 100 women together.
