AXREM Appoints New Patient Monitoring Convenor

AXREM established a new Patient Monitoring Special Focus Group in 2023 which has gone from strength to strength under the leadership of David Britton, Patient Monitoring and Life Support Marketing Manager UKI at Mindray. The group have become proactive and published a patient monitoring manifesto at EBME in 2024.

With David Britton having now completed his two year term as convenor, he is stepping back to Vice convenor and AXREM are pleased to announce that Chris Lawman, Senior Modality Leader Patient Monitoring and Connectivity at GE Healthcare has taken up the role.

Chris Lawman has been with GE Healthcare for over 27 years holding various roles in both the Service and Sales side of the business. Throughout his career, his focus has been Patient Monitoring, not only the product alone, but he also has a deep knowledge of networking, connectivity, and interoperability. For the last 9 years he has been the Senior Modality Leader for Patient Monitoring and Connectivity and an integral part of the GE Healthcare Patient Care Solutions management team and will be expanding his role to cover the whole of Northern Europe.

Chris Lawman said upon his appointment to this role “I am really excited to be taking the role of Convenor for the AXREM Patient Monitoring SFG. I have known several of the members of this group for many years and look forward to working with them all. I’d like to thank David for his leadership over the past two years and helping drive the achievements that we have made. I hope that we can continue with this success and help with the key factors that drive our groups requirements. AXREM provide us with a voice within the Industry and with Government and I look forward to being able to support all our efforts to further develop this relationship”.

Sally Edgington, AXREM Chief Executive Officer said “I must pass my thanks onto David Britton for all his hard work in establishing the group and leading the work of the group for the last two years. I am looking forward to working with Chris Lawman to see how we can further expand the membership and representation of this group under his leadership and find new focuses and work streams”.

David Britton said about his time as Convenor “Congratulations to Chris on his appointment as Patient Monitoring Special Focus Group Convenor at AXREM, I am delighted for him. It has been a real honour being involved in setting up the focus group and to give our industry a louder  voice. Under Sally’s leadership AXREM has greatly grown membership and allowed challenges to be recognised and solutions provided to support improved patient care with in the NHS and private sector. Two years has flown by and Chris will be a proactive convenor – exciting times!”
