AXREM Appoints David Britton as Regulatory, Procurement and Policy Advisor

AXREM is delighted to announce the appointment of David Britton as its new Regulatory, Procurement and Policy Advisor, further strengthening the organisation’s ability to support members across the UK healthcare and medical technology landscape.
In this part‑time role, David will provide strategic advice and subject matter expertise across regulatory, procurement and policy matters. He will play a key role in shaping AXREM’s positions, deepening stakeholder engagement and ensuring member interests are represented clearly and consistently at national level.
David joins AXREM following an outstanding 36‑year career in the healthcare sector, during which he has become widely respected for his technical knowledge, collaborative approach and deep understanding of industry challenges. His experience spans diagnostic imaging, patient monitoring, connected care and multiple senior modality leadership roles within AXREM member companies. This breadth of experience gives him a unique perspective on the realities faced by suppliers, clinicians and healthcare organisations and a strong appreciation of how policy decisions translate into operational impact.
Reflecting on his new role, David said:
“I am keen to continue contributing to the sector I care deeply about. Having completed 36 years in the healthcare sector, I recently retired and am keen to pursue a part‑time role that allows me to continue supporting the industry I love. Over the years I’ve enjoyed looking after key products across many portfolios, building strong relationships and working closely with category experts to understand the real requirements and challenges in our sector. Success is always built through effective teamwork and mutual respect.”
Throughout his career, David has been recognised for his focus, analytical thinking, relationship‑building skills, creativity and forward‑looking mindset. His previous roles spanning marketing, modality management, patient monitoring, analytics, vascular, X‑ray, mammography, BMD, surgery and interventional imaging, mean he brings not only technical depth but also a strong commercial and strategic understanding of the market. Having operated “on the other side of the fence”, he is exceptionally well placed to strengthen AXREM’s insight, advocacy and policy development.

David will begin his role later this month, supporting AXREM’s ongoing work across regulatory reform, procurement policy and wider system transformation.
