AXREM Appoints Bob Childe as Vice Chair, Marking a New Chapter in Inclusive Leadership

AXREM is delighted to announce the appointment of Bob Childe, Chief Commercial Officer at Soliton IT Ltd, as the new Vice Chair of the association. Bob will support current Chairman Huw Shurmer in leading AXREM’s strategic direction and member engagement across the UK’s imaging and oncology technology sector.
With over 35 years of experience in healthcare technology, Bob has worked across three AXREM member companies and brings a wealth of insight, leadership, and sector-wide collaboration. His appointment marks a significant milestone for AXREM, not only in recognising his longstanding contributions, but also in reflecting the association’s transformation over the past six years. AXREM now proudly represents over 100 member companies and Bob becomes the first Vice Chair from an SME, demonstrating our commitment to inclusivity and representation across the entire imaging and oncology community.
Bob has played a pivotal role in AXREM’s development, serving as Chair of the Imaging IT Special Focus Group and more recently also as Convener of the Cyber Security Group. His work has championed interoperability, digital resilience, and patient-centric innovation, values that align closely with AXREM’s mission.
