Strengthening Cyber Security in UK Healthcare: A Strategic Approach for Continuity and Resilience
30 July 2024
A cyber security breach in healthcare can have severe consequences, including significant patient care disruptions, reputational damage, and legal ramifications, extending well beyond financial losses.
As highlighted in the policy paper titled ‘A cyber resilient health and adult social care system in England: cyber security strategy to 2030’, released on March 22, 2023, the cyber security of our health and social care systems is fundamental to ensuring patient safety.
This position paper aims to address the critical cyber security challenges in UK healthcare, enhancing awareness and bolstering strategic continuity planning across healthcare organisations.
AXREM advocates for a holistic national cyber security strategy that includes government collaboration, partnerships with the private sector, and strong campaigns to increase public awareness.
