An AXREM Definition of AI

AXREM has published its Definition of Artificial Intelligence to sit alongside and support the AXREM AI Manifesto, marking one year since the manifesto’s launch. The document sets out a clear, practical definition of what constitutes AI within diagnostic imaging, radiotherapy, pathology and patient monitoring, helping to distinguish genuine AI-enabled solutions from those labelled as AI for marketing purposes. It is intended to support membership eligibility, education and external engagement with regulators, policymakers, the NHS and industry stakeholders, and outlines the types of technologies, applications and outputs that fall within AXREM’s scope.
