National MedTech Hackathon 2026
14 November 2026, Manchester
On 14 November 2026, Manchester will host the first National MedTech Hackathon, bringing together undergraduate engineers, clinicians and designers from across the UK for a day of hands-on innovation. Working in teams, participants will tackle real NHS problem statements across three challenge tracks: Detect, Prevent and Respond, moving from concept to working prototype in just 11 hours with support from clinical and industry mentors.
On the day:
08:00 – Registration and welcome
09:00 – Keynotes and problem statements from sponsor clinicians
10:30 – Hacking time, with lunch and mentor office hours built in
16:30 – Judging by clinicians, founders and investors
19:00 – Closing remarks and announcement of the winning teams, with internships among the prizes on offer
The event is organised by Manchester MedTech, a team of medical students already behind a sold-out surgical hackathon and the first Northern MedTech Conference, supported by a mentor panel drawn from surgery, imaging and digital health. AXREM is proud to support the National MedTech Hackathon as a Supporting Partner, backing the students and clinicians shaping the next generation of healthcare technology.
