IPEM 3D Printing for Radiotherapy

Share

IPEM in conjunction with the IPEM Radiotherapy SIG and 3D Printing in Radiotherapy Working Party are pleased to confirm we will be hosting a one-day symposium on 3D printing in Radiotherapy at NPL, Teddington.

The day will cover a range of topics including the below and we are looking for Abstracts or Case Studies of Experience on these:

  • Overview of the current state of UK practice in 3D printing for radiotherapy, is it becoming the norm?
  • Improved accessibility in recent years due to decreasing costs and complexity and the emergence of specialist RT software
  • Overcoming common barriers in 3D printing for radiotherapy, including:
    • QA of 3D prints
    • training requirements,
    • use of open-source software
    • interpretation of medical devices regulations.
  • Examples of relatively simple solutions to solve conformity issues with standard commercial bolus e.g. using silicon in 3D moulds
  • Clinical case studies of 3D printing in radiotherapy, i.e. bolus use, phantoms, immobilization devices, brachytherapy applications
  • Learning about the production of relatively inexpensive bespoke phantoms that can be used to improve dosimetric and geometric accuracy

The Abstract Submission Form, along with the template and guidance, can be found here: Abstract Submission Form – IPEM

A Case Study of Experience Submission Form will be available soon.

Abstract deadline date: 11th March 2024
