Share

Following the announcement at the beginning of February AXREM were pleased to host the inaugural AXREM Patient Monitoring Special Focus Group Meeting on Monday 27th February.

The group met at AXREM headquarters in London and welcomed representatives from Fukuda Denshi UK, GE Healthcare, Masimo, Mindray UK Ltd, Philips UKI and Probo Medical. The group also welcomed guests from NHS Supply Chain, who provided an update on this area and to explore how we can work closely together and collaborate.

The group was established because at the end of last year AXREM were approached by several companies working in the patient monitoring space, to see if the association could represent their sector.

Patient monitoring is the observation of a patient’s vital sign measurements over a period of time. It is usually performed by continually measuring certain medical parameters. Patient monitoring devices are increasingly compatible with electronic patient records and have interoperability with other devices to provide clinicians with a complete patient view.

Sally Edgington, AXREM Director said on hosting the first meeting “It was really nice to welcome new and existing members to this new AXREM group. This is a new area of work for the association, so the inaugural meeting was an opportunity to set the scope and remit for the group, understand the groups key areas of priority and what challenges members are facing.

I am looking forward over the coming weeks and months to start progressing the work and seeing how we can improve the challenges and develop the group to ensure patient monitoring has a clear industry voice”.
