10 March 2022

AXREM are pleased to announce the appointment of new Vice Chair Jeevan Gunaratnam, Independent Sector Sales Director, and Lead for Community Diagnostics at Philips Healthcare.
The appointment follows the announcement that current Vice chair Charlie McCaffery will be retiring at the end of June and allows for a period of handover. Jeevan Gunaratnam will support current Chair Ila Dobson until the end of this year and will then become Chair of AXREM from 1st January 2023.
Jeevan’s current role at Philips means he works closely with C-level executives across NHSE, Independent Sector, Trust and ICS organisations providing strategic and commercial support to meet current healthcare challenges.
Prior to this, Jeevan held senior roles at Fujifilm as National Sales Manager and Toshiba (now Canon) as Commercial Service Manager. Third-sector experience came from the British Institute of Radiology (BIR), where he was a Trustee and Honorary Treasurer. Jeevan served as Senior Independent Director at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, where he acted as deputy to the Trust Chair and he has experience as a healthcare provider, having established several imaging and treatment centres across the UK for a US startup.
Upon being appointed Jeevan Gunaratnam said “I am honoured to have been elected as AXREM Vice Chair by peer industry members of the Executive Committee.
I previously supported AXREM from 2015 to 2016 and our Trade Association has developed in scope and scale, representing member interests in diagnostic imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare informatics and other healthcare-related sectors.
My focus as Vice Chair will be to work with our Chair (Ila Dobson), AXREM Secretariat (Director – Sally Edgington), Executive Committee and members of our Specialist Focus Groups in delivery of our strategy.
Healthcare is in a period of recovery and restoration of clinical services whilst also ensuring systems have resilience in the face of any future crisis. AXREM members have a critical role in supporting the NHS and other care providers deliver a long-term sustainable model for healthcare services in the UK.
I am delighted to be the next Vice Chair and would like to thank fellow members for their support. My priority will be to ensure AXREM continues to represent our industry and members, working with partners across the NHS, Government and other stakeholders as care models evolve to meet the needs of our population”.
AXREM Chair Ila Dobson said of the appointment “I am delighted to welcome Jeevan as the new Vice Chair and am looking forward to working with him, especially given his lengthy experience within the health industry. Jeevan has contributed to AXREM in the past and has good knowledge of associations recent progress, so I feel he will add tremendous value to our collective efforts to raise the profile of the association in the healthcare market. On behalf of all AXREM members welcome Jeevan, we look forward to working with you”.
